Pediatric Nutrition

We love our children. We want to ensure they grow, love fruits & vegetables, and are happy humans. A positive relationship with food is equally as important as what goes in their mouth. It’s not about tricking them into eating their vegetables, but variety, modeling good behavior, normalizing foods, and having fun. All foods fit! Helping your child become a mindful and intuitive eater can sound like a impossible feat, but together, we can make that a reality. Our approach is informed by Ellyn Satter's Division of Responsibility in Feeding, which helps children stay in-tune with satiety cues, and achieve health all around.

Thinking you have a picky-eater can feel like a never-ending and stressful battle. While it’s normal for most children to have phases of pickiness, it can affect your child health and happiness as well as the family’s. We can come up with strategies to calm the storm at meal and snack time.

If any of the scenarios below apply, then your child’s “pickiness” can be (or become) something more significant:

  • Known deficiencies (e.g. iron deficiency anemia)

  • Eating only 3-5 different foods for long periods of time

  • Exhibits high anxiety at meal times

  • Severe picky eating well into adolescence

  • Significant weight loss, height, or both on your child’s growth chart (usually flagged by pediatrician)
